Jonathan Laurence is associate professor of Political Science at Boston College and nonresident senior fellow in Foreign Policy studies at the Brookings Institution. He researches and writes about transatlantic relations, West European politics, and Islam and the state in Turkey, North Africa and Western Europe. Laurence is the author of The Emancipation of Europe’s Muslims (Princeton University Press 2012) and the co-author of Integrating Islam (with Justin Vaïsse, Brookings 2006).
